At the 2026 Kojonup Show gate, a family of two adults paid only for themselves. Adults paid $15, and children with an adult got in free (checked October 2026). That's two tickets at $15 and nothing for each accompanied child: $30 at the gate however many kids come along.
The same rule worked for grandparents. Two pensioners at $5 each, bringing the grandkids, came to $10. Older kids going in on their own paid the $5 unaccompanied child rate.
Those were the 2026 prices. Check them again before the next Show.
What does a family pay at the Kojonup Show gate?
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult | $15 |
| Pensioner | $5 |
| Unaccompanied child | $5 |
| Child accompanied by an adult | Free |
Who's with the children is what changes the bill. A child with an adult got in free. The same child going in alone paid the $5 unaccompanied child rate.
If your group mixes adults, pensioners and kids, add up the grown-ups first. In 2026, any child walking in with one of them added nothing.
So the gate is the small part of show day. For most families coming from Perth or further afield, the bigger cost is the drive home at the end of a long day on your feet.
What is the Kojonup Show?

The Kojonup Show is the town's agricultural show. It's run by the Kojonup P & A Society and affiliated with the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia, the body behind the state's show network. The 2026 Show was held on Saturday 17 October.
The Shire of Kojonup lists it as an October fixture on its Upcoming Community Events calendar, in the same month as the Bloom Festival. That makes October a strong month to put Kojonup on the itinerary.
A country show is two events running at once. One is the competition: sheep, horses, poultry, preserves and paintings, all judged. The other is the fair around it: rides, food, demonstrations and, in Kojonup's case, fireworks. You can spend the whole day in either half.
We've got a shorter overview on our Kojonup Show page. This guide goes into the detail.
What gets judged in the competition halls?
The Show's official site lists the competition sections. The animal and fibre side covers equestrian (Section A), wool, Boer goats and poultry.
The kitchen and garden side covers pantry and cellar, bakery, vegetables, flower cuts and pot plants, plus decorative flower arranging and floral art. The makers have collections, craft, art and adults' photography, plus a section called History Hive Garden Junk Art.
Children get their own sections: LEGO, bakery, flowers, vegetables, craft, art, photography and preschool.
This is the part of the day visitors most often walk past. Don't. A trestle table of judged jam and sponge cakes tells you more about a farming town than any brochure.
The Show also connects to the region's spring calendar. Great Southern Treasures listed the 2026 Junk Art and Afternoon Tea as part of its Bloom Festival, on 17 October 2026 at the Kojonup Show. Enquiries go to Kodja Place on (08) 9831 0500. It's one to watch for next year.
If you want to enter something yourself, the entry details are on the Kojonup Show site, and you can email enquiries@kojonupshow.com.au for the day's program and times. Read them well before the next Show.
What did a day at the 2026 Show look like?
Source: Great Southern Herald
The Great Southern Herald's report, Kojonup Show 2026 brings families together, said the Show got under way at 8:30am on the Saturday.
The same report listed circus workshops, face painting, laser tag and classic show rides for the kids. For the grown-ups there were shearing demonstrations, speed shears and art exhibitions.
According to the Herald, food vans and stalls kept visitors fed, and fireworks closed the day at sundown.
The Herald's photos added woodchopping, the wool competition, equestrian events, dog shows, dog jumping and primary school students' art to that picture, all in its report. Treat this as a record of 2026 rather than a program for next time. Each Show sets its own line-up.
Who is the Show for?
| If you like... | Look for... |
|---|---|
| Families with young kids | Children free when accompanied by an adult (2026 prices, checked October 2026); children's competition sections; circus workshops, face painting, laser tag and rides (as reported for 2026) |
| Country life | Shearing demonstrations and speed shears, woodchopping, wool and equestrian competitions (as reported for 2026); Wool, Boer goats and Poultry sections |
| Cooks, gardeners and makers | Pantry & Cellar, Bakery, Vegetables, flower and floral art sections, Craft, Art, Collections, Adults' photography |
Families with young children. The free entry for children accompanied by an adult keeps a family day cheap (2026 prices). In 2026 the Herald reported circus workshops, face painting, laser tag and classic show rides. For other days out, see our family-friendly activities in Kojonup.
People curious about country life. In 2026 this was the place to see shearing demonstrations, speed shears and woodchopping up close. The wool, Boer goat and poultry sections are a year of farm work laid out for judging. If the horses are your family's draw, our guide to horse riding in Kojonup suggests what else to do while you're here.
Cooks, gardeners and makers. The pantry and cellar, bakery and vegetable sections and the floral sections are where you pick up ideas, or decide to enter next time.
Why does show day suit a night in Kojonup?

The 2026 Show ran from an 8:30am start to fireworks at sundown. That's a full day on your feet. If you leave before the fireworks you miss the finale. If you stay, you face a dark drive on Albany Highway after a long day.
The Road Safety Commission's advice for long drives is simple. Take a break every two hours and, if possible, swap drivers, and get at least 7.5 hours of sleep the night before. The Kojonup visitor centre says to allow about 2.5 hours for the 220 km from Armadale.
Put those together and a same-day trip means a morning drive, a full day at the Show and the same drive again at dusk. Staying the night turns that into one drive each way, with sleep in between.
Cornwall House Accommodation is at 70-72 Albany Highway, Kojonup, with contactless check-in from 2pm. Late arrivals are fine, so you can leave the showground when the kids are done rather than when a desk closes. Our check-in page explains how it works.
The rooms are air-conditioned, in queen, twin and family configurations. Each has an ensuite, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee, and free WiFi. Parking is free and onsite. The shared guest camp kitchen makes a simple dinner easy after a day of show food. If several families or exhibitors are coming together, our page on group bookings in regional WA covers how to plan it. Room types are on our accommodation page.
What is there to do the morning after the Show?
The next morning is a Sunday, and Kojonup is good at Sunday mornings. The Black Cockatoo Cafe at Kodja Place opens at 8am on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Kodja Place itself is open 9am to 4pm, last gallery entry 3:30pm, and it's at 143 Albany Highway, on the same road as us.
The Shire says the Rose Maze is usually at its best in November, but this year's pruning means it won't be in bloom for the scheduled tours. The maze itself is still open.
One night in town is also a chance to see the rest of Kojonup. Our guide to how close attractions are to town centre stays covers what's within easy reach, and day trips from Kojonup covers what's further out.
How do you catch the next Kojonup Show?
The next Show's date will appear on the official Kojonup Show site, so check there first. The Shire's Upcoming Community Events list gives you the month: October. For questions, the organiser's contact is enquiries@kojonupshow.com.au.
Until then, two November dates make a Kojonup stop worthwhile:
- The Albany Agricultural Show runs on Friday 13 November 2026 from 9:00am to 10:00pm and Saturday 14 November from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with fireworks, rides, animals, competitions and food on its list. Kojonup to Albany is 160 km, 1 hour 40 minutes, so Kojonup works as a night on the way down.
- Back in Kojonup, the Twilight Markets at The Kodja Place are on Saturday 28 November 2026, 4:00pm to 8:00pm, for all ages.
For the rest of the town's calendar, see what's on in Kojonup.
The Kojonup Show at a glance
The Show is run by the Kojonup P & A Society, affiliated with the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia, and held in October.
In 2026 the gate was $15 for adults, $5 for pensioners and $5 for unaccompanied children, and children with an adult got in free. The 2026 day ran from 8:30am to fireworks at sundown.
Make the next show day a night in town
Once the next Show date is up on the official site, book your room so the fireworks are the end of your day, not the start of your drive. Then plan Sunday morning around coffee and a walk through Kodja Place before the drive home. You can check dates and book directly on our booking page.
The same works for the Albany Show or the Twilight Markets in November. If you have a question first, such as a family room or a late arrival, contact us or call (08) 9831 0214.
